ALLEN PARK, Mich. -- Detroit Lions tight end Brandon Pettigrew underwent tests on his right ankle Tuesday to determine what, if any, injury was suffered Monday night against Baltimore. Pettigrew had his ankle re-taped twice during the Lions' 18-16 loss to the Ravens and also appeared to be injured on a big hit over the middle in the fourth quarter. Lions coach Jim Schwartz said he would not have been able to continue playing Monday night. Pettigrew had two catches for 23 yards against the Ravens, part of a season in which he has 41 receptions for 416 yards. He is a free agent after the season. Schwartz also said there was a chance injured cornerbacks Chris Houston and Darius Slay could return for the Lions on Sunday against the New York Giants. Houston missed Monday's game with a foot injury and Slay is recovering from a torn meniscus suffered in practice earlier this month. He didn't want to get into specifics, though. “There's a chance for both of them,” Schwartz said. “We'll see on the practice field this week. Handicapping them, I don't like to handicap them, but Chris is probably a little bit ahead of Darius. “But we'll see where both of them are this week.”
