Some numbers behind the Lions' 23-20 loss

In the end, after the Detroit Lions saw their playoff hopes evaporate following a 23-20 loss to the New York Giants in overtime on Sunday, there were a lot of questions.

And few answers.

Matthew Stafford struggled. Again. Calvin Johnson was clearly injured and largely ineffective. Reggie Bush fumbled. Again. Jim Schwartz made curious coaching decisions. Again.

So here’s a look at some numbers behind Detroit’s fifth loss in sixth games, the loss that finally took the Lions out of playoff contention.

0 -- Catches for Calvin Johnson in the second half and overtime Sunday.

0 -- Snaps played by the usual starting cornerbacks for Detroit, Rashean Mathis and Chris Houston, as both were inactive.

4 -- Total targets for Johnson on Sunday.

5 -- Fourth-quarter interceptions for Matthew Stafford in his past six games.
