Boston Celtics big man David Lee has logged DNP-CD (did not play, coach's decision) in 16 of his last 17 games including 13 in a row since Jan. 12. While neither Lee nor the team has stated it explicitly, the assumption has been that the Celtics will try to utilize Lee's $15.5 million contract as a trade asset before February's deadline. Bleacher Report reported Wednesday that the Celtics intend to buy out Lee if they can't move him at February's trade deadline. Lee is averaging 7.1 points and 4.3 rebounds over 15.7 minutes per game in 30 appearances. Lee started four games earlier in the year, but quickly faded from Boston's overstocked frontcourt.
