After surgery, Ricardo Lockette reportedly passed out cheeseburgers to homeless

On the same day he was released from the hospital following neck surgery, Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Ricardo Lockette decided he wanted to do something nice for the homeless in Dallas.

According to TMZ, Lockette and his family were leaving Baylor University Medical Center on Nov. 5 when they passed through an area with a large homeless population. Lockette told the driver to stop at McDonald's for 100 cheeseburgers and proceeded to hand them out.

"He had a neck brace on while he was passing out the burgers," Earl Lockette, Ricardo's father, told TMZ. "...So some people were like, 'What happened to you?' But Ricardo didn't try and bring attention to who he was.

"Some people knew who he was. But this was more about Ricardo seeing people who were in worse shape than him and wanting to help them however he could," he added.

Lockette sustained the injury on Nov. 1 against the Dallas Cowboys. In addition to ligament damage in his neck, he suffered disk issues and had a concussion.

Lockette underwent surgery and returned to Seattle earlier this week. He has been placed on injured reserve for the season.
