New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is expected to attend Sunday's Super Bowl 50 as the NFL honors the MVPs from the first 49 games.
The NFL confirmed Thursday that Brady will be part of the pregame ceremony at Levi's Stadium ahead of the Carolina Panthers-Denver Broncos matchup.
Brady, a four-time Super Bowl winner, won MVP honors at Super Bowl XXXVI, Super Bowl XXXVIII and Super Bowl XLIX.
In April, he posted a photo of the letter inviting him to the ceremony on his Facebook page with the comment: "What an honor. I hope I have my helmet on for the on-field ceremony in SF."
Brady will not be at the game as a player, as he had hoped -- the Patriots lost to the Broncos in the AFC Championship Game -- but will attend the ceremony.
There was some thought that Brady, who will be in court March 3 in the ongoing legal battle over Deflategate, would not attend Sunday's ceremony. The NFL has appealed the vacation of Brady's suspension in the case and will argue its case in court that day.
