StubHub sells pair of Game 7 courtside seats for $49,500 apiece

NBA, Cleveland Cavaliers, Golden State Warriors

StubHub sold its most expensive non-suite seats in its 16-year history Friday, as a person bought two courtside seats to Game 7 of the NBA Finals for $49,500 apiece.

StubHub spokesman Cameron Papp told ESPN that the price of the seats topped the previous record of $37,000 paid on the ticket resale site for a courtside seat to Game 4 of the NBA Finals in 2008 between the Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics. StubHub also sold a seat to the Floyd Mayweather-Manny Pacquiao fight last May for $35,000.

Papp said he could not disclose the buyer, but he did reveal that he was "well known."

On Saturday, two floor seats on Warriors resale site sold for $40,775 each.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have won each of the past two games in the Finals to set up Sunday's decisive Game 7 against the Golden State Warriors at Oakland's Oracle Arena.

StubHub sold five other tickets to Game 6 for $25,000 each, while the Warriors' resale site sold two tickets on Friday to Sunday's game for $21,500 each.

The NBA Finals have had no shortage of Silicon Valley money and star power.

On Thursday night in Cleveland for Game 6, Jay Z and Beyonce sat courtside. Drake and rapper 2 Chainz attended Game 5 in Oakland.
