There's a large portion of NFL and college football fans unfamiliar with Miami quarterback Brad Kaaya.

Over the last few weeks as early 2017 draft rankings and mock drafts have been released, it's evident the junior signal caller is a name much of the country ought to get acquainted with in the coming months.

Todd McShay projects Kaaya to go No. 2 overall if the San Francisco 49ers hold the selection. Mel Kiper Jr. places Kaaya No. 13 on his Way-Too-Early Big Board and as the No. 2 quarterback overall in the draft class.

Kaaya recently told Andrea Adelson he hasn't looked at himself as a future top pick yet, but that has not stopped the recent landslide of opinions across social media on Kaaya's NFL credentials. A 13-12 career record has colored some evaluations of Kaaya, despite Jared Goff and his 14-23 starting record going No. 1 last month.

Returning Miami to a championship level is Kaaya's main focus, he has repeatedly stated. Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher, who watched Kaaya throw for 405 yards against his defense last season, said Kaaya is a legitimate Heisman Trophy contender, too.

What else do ACC coaches have to say about the talented Miami quarterback? As Kaaya's name continues to be mentioned as a Heisman Trophy and future first-round candidate, the ACC blog asked a handful of conference staff -- head, offensive and defensive coaches -- for their evaluations on Kaaya to help the country familiarize itself with the Hurricanes star.

ACC assistant coach: "You have to mix it up, change it up. If you stay the same he'll pick you apart. He's extremely intelligent and talented. He can get out of the pocket and move around enough. He's a dangerous weapon."

ACC head coach: "He's probably the best pure passer in the ACC. He threw a fade us against us that [the cornerback] has great coverage but he threw it to that outside shoulder and it was the perfect fade throw against a pretty good corner. He's got great accuracy and a feel for the game. His knowledge is strong so he can read a coverage, and really you've got to mix up coverages on him more than most people. Some quarterbacks can make throws. Some can't. Some have the intelligence to know what's going on and still can't make the throw. He's a guy who can make the throw and I'm sure he's going to keep getting better."

ACC assistant coach: "I don't think you can stop him. Kaaya is going to play for a long time. He's the model NFL quarterback."

ACC assistant coach: "He's a guy that's a good decision maker. He sees the field well. He throws a good deep ball."
