Best of the college football recruiting visits: SEC

Though some of the more intriguing SEC games of the weekend were held at neutral sites, there were still some big-time visitors at several games this weekend. Some recruits tweeted out photos, while others posted videos of their weekend experiences. Here’s a closer look at the top sights and sounds from around the SEC on the opening college football weekend.

Arkansas had a huge Saturday. The Razorbacks not only defeated UTEP 48-13 (with an explosive passing game no less), but Bret Bielema also landed his top prospect since arriving in Fayetteville. Five-star defensive end McTelvin Agim, an Arkansas native, committed to the Razorbacks on Saturday afternoon. The 6-foot-3, 268-pound defensive lineman is the ninth-ranked prospect in the ESPN 300. Agim sent out a tweet announcing his intentions to sign with the Razorbacks in February.

Massive defensive tackle and Alabama commit Kendell Jones was on hand to watch the Crimson Tide defeat Wisconsin, 35-17, on Saturday night. A fan tweeted out a photo of a picture he took with Jones, the 93rd-ranked prospect in the ESPN 300. By the looks of the photo, Jones seems very strong in his commitment to the Crimson Tide.

Jones wasn’t the only Alabama commit on hand for the Wisconsin matchup on Saturday. Offensive line commit Chris Owens, an Arlington, Texas native, was on hand in his hometown to watch the big Crimson Tide win on Saturday. He posted a video showing his vantage point from pregame warmups.

Despite its relatively easy tune-up on Saturday against New Mexico State, Florida still hosted several top prospects including Miami wide receiver commit Sam Bruce and ESPN 300 uncommitted wide receiver Nate Craig-Myers. ESPN Junior 300 wide receiver and Florida commit Daquon Green was also on hand, and an assistant coach at Green’s high school tweeted out a photo of Green, Craig-Myers, and Craig-Myers half-brother Jayvaughn Myers before the game Saturday. Florida is in heavy contention for Bruce and Craig-Myers.
