Arkansas' best 2015 win, most intriguing 2016 game

This week on the SEC blog, we're taking a look back at each team's best 2015 game and a look ahead at their most intriguing game of the coming 2016 season. We started the series this morning with Alabama, now let's turn our attention to Arkansas:

Arkansas' best 2015 win: There are a few games to choose from but we'll go with the Razorbacks' 53-52 overtime win against Ole Miss on Nov. 7. That included one of the most memorable plays of the 2015 season, the fourth-and-25 conversion that included Hunter Henry's wild lateral to Alex Collins to keep the Hogs alive in overtime. The win was important for several reasons: It was Arkansas' third consecutive win at that point, helping them go over .500 after a 1-3 start, it was over an Ole Miss team ranked 18th at that moment and it had an impact on the SEC West race, giving Alabama control of the division. Most importantly for the Hogs, it was one of several quality wins in their second half, where they won six of their last seven games to finish 8-5 overall.

Most intriguing 2016 game: The Razorbacks have several compelling matchups in 2016 but it might be their Sept. 10 game at TCU that provides the most intrigue. The last two seasons the Hogs have played a Big 12 foe (Texas Tech) and each result was telling for different reasons -- their 2014 win a sign of what was to come, the 2015 loss part of a rough first month that required a strong second half to recover from. TCU is coming off an 11-win season despite being hit with a slew of injuries and will certainly be a preseason top 25 team this year. Despite the loss of Trevone Boykin and Josh Doctson, Gary Patterson's program will likely still be considered a Big 12 title contender, given its strong history under the longtime Horned Frogs' head coach. This will be a good early-season barometer game for the Razorbacks, who are entering their fourth season under Bret Bielema and looking to take another step forward in the win column. Arkansas will be working in new starters in its offensive backfield at quarterback and running back as well as on the left side of the offensive line, so if the Hogs are able to pull out a win, it would be a huge confidence boost. Also of note, Arkansas will be one of only two SEC teams to play a September nonconference game at an opposing Power 5 team's home field (Missouri is the other, playing at West Virginia).
