Ameer Abdullah wants to visit Iceland hot springs, other Lions travel dreams

ALLEN PARK, Mich. -- Various Detroit Lions landed all over the globe this offseason -- from Matthew Stafford in New Zealand to DeAndre Levy in Chile.

While no one is likely to have the travel schedule -- or the adventurous streak -- of Levy, traveling around the globe is something not foreign to NFL players. With that in mind, we used the first Detroit Lions Question of the Week of the 2015 season to see where, exactly, some Lions would like to travel to if they could go anywhere in the world.

Many of those who answered actually seem like they might get there soon, too.

RB Ameer Abdullah: Probably to Iceland, to the hot springs. It’s a natural hot tub and it’s a pretty sweet part of the world that doesn’t really get the recognition that I feel like it deserves. Seriously, the water is icy blue. It’s a really unique scenery, because Iceland, it gets cold there but it’s a natural hot spring there, hot all year. ... Hopefully I can make the trip in the next year or so.

OG Laken Tomlinson: Man, Japan. They have a really cool culture over there. When I was growing up, I was exposed to a lot of samurai and kung fu fighting movies. And through that, I had early exposure to Asian culture and I was really interested in it. Then throughout high school, I thought it would be a cool experience to go over there as a trip.

FB Michael Burton: It depends on what I’m feeling. Am I feeling more of an outdoorsy thing or more of a tropical thing? I’ve always wanted to visit Hawaii. I heard that would be a great place to visit. I talked to Brian Suite about it a little bit when he was here. So Hawaii, going down there, somewhere tropical, just relaxing on the beach would be cool. There’s a lot of places I’d like to visit. That might be one of them. Italy would be a great place to visit. I know a lot of my friends visited, so that was an awesome trip. So one of those two.

WR Lance Moore: I’d say Spain. I’ve always wanted to go to Spain. I’ve been to Europe a few times and enjoyed myself but never had a chance to get over to Spain. The history and the culture, the architecture. I think it would be pretty cool to get over there. I played in NFL Europe, and I think either a season or two seasons after Barcelona was no longer a team and I was kind of mad. My coach in Berlin [Rick Lantz] coached for Barcelona and said was unbelievable so ever since then, I always wanted to go to Barcelona and all those places there.

OT LaAdrian Waddle: Actually, one of our honeymoon ideas is Bora Bora, so I’ll say Bora Bora. I don’t think that many people have been there and I heard it’s beautiful. I have no idea. Just to say I’ve seen it, you know. It was just one of those places you hear stuff about, you see pictures but you want to see it for yourself.

LB Brandon Copeland: I’m excited to go to London and see how their culture is. For some reason, I’ve always wanted to go to Brazil and Spain. I know I’m giving a bunch of different answers, but Brazil and Spain because I’m interested in different people and different ways of life, different walks of life, different cultures and also along that line, going to China and checking that out, Beijing. As a kid, I used to want to, when I was a young, young kid, I wanted to go to every single country. Now, it’s scaled back to go to every single continent obviously barring Antarctica, I guess, but I would love to check out everything.

CB Josh Wilson: I would love to go on a tour of Italy. That is something I look forward to going, going through the whole country and things like that. Greece, that looks nice.
