SEC Network Expands On-Site Coverage of SEC Football Championship Coverage

The SEC Network caps off its second year of regular season college football by expanding on-site coverage of the 2015 SEC Football Championship Game: Florida vs. Alabama with multiple set locations, three live shows on-site and the nation’s leading experts on the matchup.
For the first time, SEC Now, SEC Network’s flagship news and information show, joins with live coverage from Atlanta. The Paul Finebaum Show and SEC Nation return, utilizing a set in SEC Dr Pepper FanFare and on the Georgia Dome sidelines.
The network will deliver special guests, extensive previews and a desk of experts that includes former quarterbacks for both teams playing in this year’s matchup. SEC Network analysts Tim Tebow (Florida) and Greg McElroy (Alabama) played against each other as starting quarterbacks in the 2009 SEC Championship game. McElroy led the team to an undefeated season, an SEC Championship and BCS National Championship title that year. They were both on their respective teams in 2008 when Florida beat Alabama with Tebow as the starter. He went on to win the Heisman Trophy and the BCS National Championship shortly after.
In addition to Tebow and McElroy on SEC Nation, SEC Now’s desk includes former Florida wide receiver Chris Doering. Doering won three SEC Championships (1993, 94, 95), two of which were against Alabama (1993, 94).
The network rounds out its SEC Championship panel of experts with a special guest analyst, Missouri’s former head football coach Gary Pinkel. His team played in two SEC Championships (2013, 14), including one against Alabama in 2014. Commentators* on SEC Network’s 2015 coverage have 13 SEC Championship game appearances between them.

FRIDAY
Onsite coverage kicks off with the head coaches’ press conference Friday, Dec. 4, starting at 1:30 p.m. ET, followed by The Paul Finebaum Show live from SEC FanFare on SEC Network. At 9 p.m., host Dari Nowkhah, Booger McFarland and Doering bring the latest news from around the conference with SEC Now. The SEC Nation analysts will also contribute to the nightly news show on Friday from a different set inside the stadium.
SATURDAY
SEC Network surrounds the game from morning to night on Saturday, Dec. 5, with wall-to-wall coverage of both the Florida Gators and the Alabama Crimson Tide. The day begins with replays of notable wins from the regular season. A special SEC Film Room compilation focuses on X’s and O’s of both Florida and Alabama through the eyes of their own coaches.
Starting at 1 p.m., the network airs an extended three-hour SEC Nation pregame show from both the SEC Fanfare and inside the Georgia Dome. Florida’s Tebow will be live with Alabama alum McElroy breaking down the level of play for both of their alma maters. The two SEC Championship rivals are joined by host Joe Tessitore, two-time SEC Champion Marcus Spears, Paul Finebaum and Kaylee Hartung. The special Championship show also includes a feature on Gator cornerback Vernon Hargreaves III and one-on-one sitdowns with both head coaches.
POST-GAME and SUNDAY
SEC Now will provide immediate reaction of the matchup from the sideline set following the conclusion of the trophy ceremony. This coverage will consist of post-game analysis from SEC Network commentators and live on-set guests.
The game begins re-airing on SEC Network at 10 p.m.
The championship weekend closes out with an SEC Now: Bowl Special from the network’s Charlotte, N.C., studios following the highly anticipated announcement of the final College Football Playoff Rankings on Sunday, Dec. 6.
