Serena Williams and Ronda Rousey sign movie deals with Lifetime

In recent years, LMN (Lifetime Movie Network) has become synonymous with highly sensationalized, made-for-TV movies. These movies -- while extremely entertaining and secretly making us feel a little bit better about the events of our own lives -- often lack substance.

According to Deadline, the era characterized by films like "Another Woman's Husband" and "Death of a Cheerleader" is coming to a close. LMN is looking to flip the script by going in a younger and edgier direction.

To that effect, LMN is bringing Serena Williams and Ronda Rousey into the fold. The tennis phenom and the MMA superstar have both reportedly signed movie deals with the network.

Rousey has agreed to a three-picture movie deal with the intention of developing and producing features focused on female empowerment.

Williams is set to executive produce a movie tentatively called "Sister Dance" inspired by the annual dance-off competition she hosts with her sister Venus.

To "The Babysitter's Seduction" and all the other wild films LMN has brought us over the years, thanks for the memories. But we have a strong feeling a dance battle movie involving the Williams sisters won't disappoint.

Now if they could just get Ronda and Serena to star in a movie -- together. Your move, Lifetime.
