Some notes and other thoughts from Michigan State pro day

EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Some thoughts, notes and nuggets following Michigan State's pro day Wednesday.

1. Michigan State's pro day drew a lot of attention. Michigan State said reps from all 32 NFL franchises and at least one CFL team showed up in East Lansing, including some bigwigs. Three head coaches were spotted on Wednesday: Philadelphia's Chip Kelly, Pittsburgh's Mike Tomlin and Minnesota's Mike Zimmer. Also, Detroit general manager Martin Mayhew was in attendance as well as Minnesota general manager Rick Spielman. Tomlin was particularly impressed.

"I talked to coach Tomlin and he said this has become a place where we're going to come every year," Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio said after the pro day. "It's just one of those places. That's exciting to hear.

"These guys have impressed people. (GMs and coaches) are here for a reason."

Tomlin declined to talk with reporters following pro day.

2. While most of the focus was on potential first-round cornerback Trae Waynes on Wednesday, the Spartans had a number of other intriguing prospects, including wide receiver/cornerback Tony Lippett, running back Jeremy Langford, running back/slot receiver Keith Mumphery, defensive lineman Marcus Rush and linebacker Taiwan Jones.

"It's a great feeling but they are all not out here (just) for me," Waynes said. "Got a lot of great players here and they are all getting looked at, not just me."

3. Some bench press numbers: Langford 19 reps, Mumphery 15 reps, Matt Rea 31 reps, Rush 24 reps, Travis Jackson 26 reps. Vertical jump: Jones 33.5 inches; Rush 34 inches. 40-yard dash times: Mylan Hicks 4.47 seconds; Nick Hill 4.48 seconds; Jones 4.71 seconds; Lippett 4.5 seconds.

4. Some visits and workouts have been set up. Mumphery said he is working out with the Texans on Tuesday. Waynes said he has visits set up with the Jaguars and Vikings and private workouts arranged with the Titans and Panthers. Both Lippett and Langford said no visits or private workouts have been set up yet, but that could easily change. Lippett said he met with three teams formally at the combine: the Chiefs, Texans and Eagles. Speaking of the Eagles, from a quick eye test it appeared they had the most people in attendance of any team, including Kelly and offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur.

5. Full list of coaches and scouts spotted (not everyone had nametags that were easily accessible so this is a partial list but what I saw):
