          Guide to the NHL trade deadline: Central Division

          With the NHL trade deadline looming Feb. 29, Hockey Prospectus is previewing this season's mad scramble with a look at every team's status as buyer or seller, potential trade targets and top assets to sell.

          The Central Division is by far the most competitive division in hockey. It will likely send five teams to the playoffs and there is a good argument to be made for the top four as legitimate contenders to win the Stanley Cup.

          That means the trade deadline will be essential for these clubs to separate themselves from the pack, with the defending champions leading the way.
