The Chicago Bulls have had good luck in recent drafts snagging Taj Gibson (2009) and Jimmy Butler (2011) late in the first round, while trading up to get Nikola Mirotic in 2011 as well. 2013 first-round selection Tony Snell gave Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau some solid minutes this past season and is expected to grow in next year's rotation. After struggling in his first month, rookie Doug McDermott underwent knee surgery and never cracked the rotation, although the Bulls are still hopeful he can contribute next season.

Bulls executives Gar Forman and John Paxson have made it a point over the years to draft the best player available regardless of position. On the surface, it would appear the Bulls could use a young point guard to play behind Derrick Rose or a young big man to play behind Joakim Noah, who is entering the final year of his contract.

ESPN.com's Chad Ford has the Bulls selecting Delon Wright at No. 22 from Utah in his latest mock draft.

From Ford: "Derrick Rose is healthy again, but several things point to the Bulls potentially needing help at the backup point guard position."

Aside from Marquis Teague, who was selected late in the 2012 draft after his freshman year at Kentucky, Forman and Paxson have made it a point to draft older college players from solid programs. Wright fits the bill in that regard and would give the Bulls another option to go along with veteran Kirk Hinrich, who has a player option. If Aaron Brooks isn't re-signed Wright could learn from two players who have been in the Bulls' system for a while.
