Peyton Manning Conversation (12:00)

On the eve of his second Super Bowl appearance in three years, Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning sits down with Countdown’s Tom Jackson, a member of Denver’s famed Orange Crush defense, to discuss his up-and-down season: being benched at mid-season for back-up quarterback Brock Osweiler, the injuries, returning in the playoffs to lead the team to Super Bowl 50, and his plans whether to keep playing after Super Bowl 50. (Producer: Tory Zawacki)

Josh Norman Conversation (12:20)

Carolina Panthers cornerback Josh Norman sits with ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith to talk about his breakout season, how to get in the head of opposing wide receivers, the possibility of getting a pick-6 in Super Bowl 50 vs. Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning, and a recap of what was going throw his head when he faced Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. at Giants MetLife Stadium on Dec. 20, 2015.

Demaryius Thomas Reunion (12:45)

Denver Broncos wide receiver Demaryius Thomas waited 17 years for the experience of having his mother watch him play football live and in person. On Jan. 17, Katina Smith, Demaryius’ mom – who had been in prison for nearly two decades, watched her son play against the Steelers in the AFC Divisional Playoff game. The following week ESPN cameras were with Katina at home as she watched her son play in Denver’s Conference Championship victory over the Patriots. Demaryius and his mother spoke to Countdown reporter Michelle Beisner about the emotional reunion at Mile High. (Producer: Luis Aldea)

Cam’s Gift (1:00)

When Cam Newton handed six-year-old Colin Toler the game ball after scoring a touchdown in the Panthers’ week 9 home win over the Packers, the quarterback left a lasting memory for a young boy who was struggling to come to grips with the loss of his 31-year-old dad, Ben Toler, reports ESPN’s Marty Smith(Producer: Gavin Cote)

 Going Out on Top (1:30)

Super Bowl 50 could be the swan song for Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning after an 18-year NFL career. If the Broncos win, Manning would join a list of players – Hall of Famers Jerome Bettis and Mel Renfro, 12-time Pro Bowler Ray Lewis, basketball Hall of Famer David Robinson, hockey Hall of Famer Ray Bourque and just a few others — who walked away from the game with a championship. Countdown’s Jim Trotter reports on the significance of walking away from the game as a champion. (Producer: Luke S. Williams)

Así Llegaron (4:30)

NFL Esta Noche will open with a recap of the Broncos and Panthers seasons, focusing primarily on their journey to Super Bowl 50.

San Francisco-Bay Area Essay (4:45)

The Bay Area is made up of cities with names given by Spanish settlers in the 1700’s – San Jose, Santa Clara and San Francisco. Over three centuries later, the Hispanic influence in the area is as strong as ever. The varied cultures that make up the region have turned it into a variegated mosaic; and with more than 20 percent Latino population and neighborhoods like the Mission District, The Presidio and East San Jose, the Hispanic culture is the heartbeat of diversity that adds a colorful flavor to Super Bowl 50. Spanish-language narration by Jerry Olaya. (Producer: Lizette Castaneda)

Las Panteras (5:00)

Sixteen of the 32 NFL teams produce Spanish-language radio broadcasts. But in Charlotte, N.C., an uncle and nephew duo, Jaime and Luis Moreno, have changed the way football play-by-play is done in Spanish.  The Carolina Panthers’ riveting 15-1 regular season record has taken the Morenos and their radio game broadcasts to another level – turning them into a cultural phenomenon across North Carolina and beyond. Reporter Álvaro Martín. (Producer: Cote Gavin)

Rivera Family Values (5:30)

ESPN Deportes’ Álvaro Martín reports how Carolina Panthers head coach Ron Rivera found strength in recent tragedies – the passing of his brother from pancreatic cancer in July and the fire that engulfed his home in January of 2015.
