Ravens show their support by helping out Baltimore

The Baltimore Ravens brought food and support to west Baltimore on Thursday morning in an effort to aid the area of the city that has been the hardest hit by riots, destruction and violence this week.

According to the Ravens, 85 members of the organization, including 55 players, handed out food to more thanĀ 500 Baltimore families. Coach John Harbaugh, quarterback Joe Flacco and former Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis were among the contingent that stopped at two elementary schools and one high school on the west side of Baltimore.

Harbaugh met with the Douglass High School football team, and Lewis addressed the entire high school. Lewis chose to stay in Baltimore to help stop the violenceĀ rather than go to Chicago to be part of ESPN's draft coverage.

"We have an opportunity to change Baltimore,” Lewis told the students. “If you want to make real change, be the example of change.”
