          The first edition of the 2016 ESPN 300 is ranked based off comprehensive film analysis, including junior film, as well as camp and combine performances. Here are a few trends as well as the newcomers to this ranking.

          In 2016, it all starts up front

          We have always put a premium on prospects that can be impactful along the defensive line. Potential difference-makers in the trenches are not always easy to find, but the 2016 class offers a talented group, and that is represented in the rankings. The initial ESPN 300 features 16 five-star prospects with nine of them projected to the D-Line, and another four rounding out the overall top 25.
