Pardoned Minnesota turkey named after Packers QB Aaron Rodgers

Aaron Rodgers now has a turkey named after him, thanks to Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton.

Dayton named the turkey he pardoned this week after the Green Bay Packers quarterback.

According to multiple media reports, including this one from the St. Paul (Minn.) Pioneer Press, the governor said he gave the year-and-a-half-old turkey the name Aaron “after what happened [Sunday] on the field.”

Rodgers and the Packers beat the Vikings 30-13 on Sunday in Minneapolis. He threw two touchdown passes to help the Packers snap a three-game losing streak.

“For the record, I wish Aaron Rodgers no ill will,” the governor told reporters, “just more incomplete passes.”

According to the Pioneer Press, the turkey named Aaron weighs 40 pounds and was raised near Faribault, Minnesota.
