Bryce Drew among candidates to replace Fred Hoiberg at Iowa State

Iowa State is casting a wide net in its search for a replacement for Fred Hoiberg and will conduct interviews this weekend in Atlanta, home base of the Dan Parker search firm the school hired, multiple sources confirmed to ESPN.com Wednesday.

Valparaiso's Bryce Drew, Stephen F. Austin's Brad Underwood and Murray State's Steve Prohm are all scheduled for interviews, according to sources. The search firm and Iowa State are also expected to interview current Iowa State assistant T.J. Otzelberger.

Drew has won the Horizon League three times and been to the NCAA tournament twice.

Underwood has won the Southland in each of his first two seasons with the Lumberjacks, losing just one conference game and Stephen F. Austin has won one NCAA tournament game in the past two seasons.

Prohm has finished first in the Ohio Valley Conference each of his four seasons at Murray State, reaching the NCAA tournament one time and winning a game in 2012.

Otzelberger coached with the Cyclones for seven seasons before leaving for Washington for two and then returning to Iowa State this spring.

Sources said the search firm also has interest in Lindsey Hunter, who has been an assistant and head coach of the Phoenix Suns and an assistant with the Golden State Warriors. There have been conflicting reports on the interest of current Suns head coach Jeff Hornacek, an alumnus of Iowa State.

Hoiberg left his alma mater this week to become the head coach of the NBA's Chicago Bulls, replacing Tom Thibodeau.

Iowa State is projected to be a top 10 team and a challenger to Kansas next season in the Big 12. The Cyclones return Georges Niang, Jameel McKay and Monte Morris in their quest to get further than the Round of 64 upset loss to UAB this past season. Iowa State did win the Big 12 tournament in Kansas City for the second straight season.
