Toughest stretch: Missouri

This week on the SEC blog we're looking ahead to the biggest hurdle each team will have to navigate this fall by analyzing the toughest stretch on their 2015 schedule.

Missouri

Toughest stretch: Nov. 5-28 (vs. Mississippi State, vs. BYU, vs. Tennessee, at Arkansas)

Why: Though three of these games are at home, the quality of each opponent is good meaning these are games the Tigers will likely have to scratch and claw for.

Mississippi State, which had a terrific 2014, still has quarterback Dak Prescott and if he has the Bulldogs playing at a high level going into this Thursday-night affair, it'll be an intense battle.

While many SEC teams have an FCS opponent in November, the Tigers don't have that luxury in 2015. BYU is their November non-conference foe and the Cougars are expected to be a quality team as usual.

The following week could be -- dare I say -- a battle for the SEC East crown? Tennessee is a popular pick this offseason to rise up the SEC East ladder and perhaps win the division. Missouri, the division winner of the last two years, may have something to say about that. Either way, this game could be quite pivotal to the top of the SEC East race.

Finally, the Tigers end the regular season going to Arkansas. Mizzou defeated the Hogs 21-14 last season to clinch the SEC East title but most expect the Razorbacks to be much-improved in 2015. This will be a stiff end-of-year test for Missouri, especially with it being on the road, though the Tigers have yet to lose an SEC road game since joining the league.
