The Kansas State quarterback situation is starting to look a little bleak, enough so that coach Bill Snyder needed to answer this question on Tuesday: Who is K-State's sixth-string quarterback?

The short answer: Zach Davidson, a redshirt freshman walk-on from Harrisonville, Missouri.

But if starter Joe Hubener were to go down with an injury this week, at least Davidson won't be their only option.

The 6-foot, 297-pound defensive tackle was a four-sport athlete (football, wrestling, baseball, track) in high school, so why not? Kansas State nearly beat Oklahoma State last week with a receiver playing quarterback, so it's not all that crazy.

The Wildcats do love to use their quarterbacks in the power run game, too, and surely Geary can handle that role. But he's going to have some competition if it ever comes to that.

Dalton Risner also volunteered to play QB, just in case Will Geary doesn't pan out.

Yep, the starting center want in on the action too. Or maybe he just wants a shot at the inaugural Piesman Trophy. Either way, it's always good to have a contingency plan.
