With free agency essentially completed and the 2015 draft a month away, there is starting to be a consensus on what the Detroit Lions will need to help fill out their roster for the 2015 season and beyond.
Those biggest needs? Offensive line, defensive tackle, wide receiver, running back and cornerback. Those positions, by the way, are not ordered by biggest need but rather are a snapshot of five positions that will need improvement over the next two months.
Of those, only one spot is truly missing a 2015 starter -- the offensive line, where the Lions are still searching for a left guard.
What do the mock drafts say? Let's take a look.
The latest mock draft over at CBSSports.com has the Lions taking Miami (Fla.) offensive tackle Ereck Flowers with pick No. 23. He also is the pick at Rob Rang's mock draft. If Flowers is still around, he would definitely garner consideration since he could slide in almost immediately to play. He is also the pick of one of the two mock drafts over at ourlads.com, with LSU's La'el Collins being the other.
The group over at NFL.com is almost unanimously in the offensive tackle line of thinking for the Lions with all but one of their analysts focusing on the position at No. 23. Five have the Lions taking D.J. Humphries from Florida.
Just think, a month from now, the Lions will know who they actually have on their team instead of projection after projection of what might happen.
And now, a look around the Interwebs in search of Lions and other news:
