Stephen Curry (Golden State Warriors) and John Wall (Washington Wizards) represent the best point guard play on the coasts, and on Feb. 14, during the NBA's All-Star Weekend in New York City, fans will get to see them take each other on in a game of H-O-R-S-E.
Sort of.
Thanks to Degree men's deodorant and a few carefully crafted YouTube taunts, Curry and Wall have arranged to battle for the title of "Ultimate Game Changer," decided by a "shot-for-shot competition" in front of the crowd at Madison Square Garden.
But expect a few wrinkles to be thrown in. For starters, fans will get to vote online for which kind of shot each player will attempt.
This all ostensibly started when Degree released a 90-second advertorial on Curry's multifaceted skill set. Wall responded on Twitter with a pair of short YouTube clips, including this one:
Ok @StephenCurry30 - let's settle this on the court. #ad http://t.co/y7EjSdC9iV
— John Wall (@JohnWall) January 26, 2015
Curry responded with his own short message, and the competition was on.
Ok @JohnWall, @DegreeMen, let's settle this - Curry vs. Wall - Battle of the Game Changers at NBA All-Star #ad http://t.co/HEslQ8ZSGn
— Stephen Curry (@StephenCurry30) January 26, 2015
Who cares if this is just a brand-manufactured rivalry (as the players' "#ad" suggests)? Seeing two of the game's best try to one-up each other on the court seems like it's worth it.
