Disney and ESPN Media Networks today announced the promotion of James Rollins to Vice President of Digital Video Distribution. In this role, Rollins is responsible for identifying and cultivating new product opportunities as well as driving the distribution of digital products and services with affiliates on behalf of the Disney and ESPN Media Networks. He will continue to be based in New York.

Most recently, Rollins served as Senior Director in his respective position, where he worked extensively on numerous product initiatives including the company’s suite of authenticated WATCH products, video on demand delivery, dynamic ad insertion and Sling TV.  He has also been a significant contributor in renewal efforts by securing distribution of the WATCH products and other digital services across The Walt Disney Company in several agreements over the past two years.

Rollins began his career at Disney/ESPN in June 2008 as a sales account executive in Affiliate Sales before joining the Digital Video Distribution team, where he was promoted numerous times before his current role and awarded the ESPN Sales and Marketing Leadership Awards in 2011 and 2012. Prior to that, he served in the United States Navy as a supply officer from 2001-2006. While serving his country, he was honored with military decorations including two Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals and a Meritorious Unit Commendation.

Outside of Disney/ESPN, Rollins is an active member of NAMIC and CTAM, and will be honored with a Luminary Award at the 2015 NAMIC Annual Awards Breakfast on Thursday, May 7. He graduated from Virginia Tech with a bachelor degree in finance and earned his MBA in marketing and global management from the University of South Carolina.
