Josh Robinson helps fan at gas station

The sports world has taken a few image hits recently. These days, it's hard to find a really good story involving an athlete off the field.

Well, former Mississippi State running back Josh Robinson helped to buck that trend with a simple act of generosity when he helped a stranded fan at a gas station after she left her wallet at home.

The fan, or Jessica by her Twitter profile (Payitfwd_jmsb), attempted to pay for her tank of gas in Starkville with a check because she left her wallet in Columbus, Mississippi. When she was denied, Robinson offered to pay for the gas, asking for nothing in return. He even rejected her insistence to pay him back.

Here's how Jessica put it on Twitter:

Pretty cool.

Robinson has always been a class act, and this is just another reflection of his character. Robinson led the Bulldogs and ranked third in the SEC with 1,203 rushing yards last season. The 5-foot-8, 217-pound bruiser also scored 11 rushing touchdowns last season.

Despite only starting one season for Mississippi State, Robinson decided to forego his senior season and declared for the NFL draft just before the Bulldogs' appearance in the Capital One Orange Bowl. Robinson is viewed as a mid-to-late-round pick in next week's NFL draft.
