Revenge of home-court advantage

NBA

Remember the big drop in home-court advantage?

To get you up to speed, about a month ago we reported that the home team wasn't pulling out wins as often as it had in the past. At that point, the home team had won 53.7 percent of its games this season, the lowest rate in modern NBA history. In the past decade or so, the home-court win percentage has typically hovered around 60 percent.

We found the drop, even looking at that point midseason in seasons past, to be statistically significant, meaning that there was a less than 5 percent chance that this was completely random.

Well, it's time we checked in on home-court advantage. Since we published our findings Jan. 28, the home team has roared back. In a big, big way.
