Two Lions stay on Kiper's Rookie Rankings

ALLEN PARK, Mich. -- Continuing to prove Martin Mayhew and his staff had a pretty good draft last year, two Detroit Lions remain in the Top 15 of colleague Mel Kiper Jr.'s rookie rankings this week.

And that's not even including punter Sam Martin, who is putting together a good first year kicking the ball.

Right guard Larry Warford has been a staple in Kiper's rankings since the beginning of the season, consistently in the Top 15. And defensive end Ziggy Ansah makes another appearance and continues to hang around in the top five.

Ansah was fourth in Kiper's rankings and Warford at No. 8. Warford probably would have been higher -- he dropped a little bit, actually -- but he didn't grade out that well against Green Bay, a game in which the Lions' offensive line allowed five sacks.

As mentioned in this week's Rookie Report, almost all of the Lions' first-year players are making contributions this season.
