Lions place two on Kiper's Rookie Rankings

ALLEN PARK, Mich. -- As each week progresses, Martin Mayhew's 2013 rookie class looks better and better.

He has pulled at least three starters out of his draft picks in Ziggy Ansah, Larry Warford and Sam Martin, found a talented undrafted free agent contributor in Joseph Fauria and has a semi-starter in cornerback Darius Slay.

Those picks are starting to gain recognition as two of them -- Warford and Ansah -- are now in the top 6 of Mel Kiper's latest rookie rankings.

Warford, coming in at No. 3, has played every snap in the first three Detroit games at right guard and is showing signs of being an effective lineman for the rest of his career.

Ansah, at No. 6, has 11 tackles and a team-high 2.5 sacks in his first three games with Detroit. He has proven a nice complement to defensive tackles Ndamukong Suh and Nick Fairley. The defensive end is the highest drafted player on Kiper's list.
