This was a big week for change for the Butler Bulldogs, who officially became members of the new Big East -- their third conference in as many years -- on the first of the month. But I would argue the biggest changes in recent program history came back in March, when Butler Blue II passed his collar and promoted Butler Blue III to official mascot duties. Monumental stuff. A changing of the guard, if you will.

But Butler Blue III needs to get in shape for the Big East next season, or something, and you know what that means. Adorable, easily excused Internet video time, kids! Weee!

I learned a couple of things from this video. The first is that Butler Blue III has taken on the nickname "Trip," which is among the best of all the nicknames. Being a "Trip" would be cool. I've always wanted to be a "Trip," or at least something similar.

I also learned that when the hours approach to give it your best, you've got to reach your prime. That's when you need to put yourself to the test, and show us a passage of time. We're gonna need a montage. Montage! Ooh it takes a montage. Montage!

Anyway, Blue III -- or Trip -- seems to be settling into his role quite nicely.
